Twitter launches TweetDeck as web app built with HTML 5


TweekDesk has introduced a new version of the popular program, built with HTML 5, at the end of last week. The application supports for PC, MAC, iPhone, iPad or Android device. A button for adding new columns is located at the top of the TweetDeck screen, along with controls for writing a new Tweet, navigating among columns, and searching Twitter.

eFront multiple vulnerabilities


Secunia reports multiple vulnerabilities in eFront.  Attackers are using these vulnerabilities to destroy systems. They are conducting SQL injection attacks, cross-site scripting attacks, and compromise vulnerable systems. This includes HTML and script code in an affected site, input passed via the “HTTP_REFERER”, “view_ unit”, “sent_ notification_ id” parameters. These vulnerabilities can be exploited to operate SQL queries.

Phishers use HTML attachments to evade browser blacklists


Chrome and Firefox are good at detecting phishing sites and warning Web surfers via a browser notice when they are about to visit a site that looks dangerous. Scammers are resorting to a new tactic to lure victims into their traps via e-mails–attaching HTML files that are stored locally when they are opened. The phishing URLs alone without the HTML form are hard to verify because the PHP script runs in the server and no visible HTML is displayed after clicking the submit button, other than redirecting to a page belonging to the company the scammer was pretending to be.

Google Gmail to use HTML5


In keeping with Google’s enthusiasm for the emerging HTML5 standard, many upcoming features of the company’s Gmail web-based email service will be rendered in HTML5, said Adam de Boor, a staff software engineer working on the service. “We have things that we can do much more efficiently in HTML5,” said De Boor, speaking Thursday at the Usenix WebApps ’10 in Boston.
