Domino’s India Website Falls Victim to Cyber Attack; Pizza Retailer Yet to Confirm


Domino’s Pizza India website (www.dominos.co.in) has been hacked by a group of Turkish people who identified themselves as TurkishAjan. Around 37,000 customer details were said to have been compromised.First reported by cyberwarnews.info on Sunday, it was said that names, e-mail address, passwords, and phone numbers of customers who placed orders least once were leaked online.The group reportedly announced the hack on their official website and was said to have posted details on Pastebin.com.

Police tackle cyber criminals using counter-terrorism techniques


Hundreds of attempts to hack into bank accounts to steal money are being stopped every week by a new partnership between the City of London police and UK banks.The partnership is estimated to have prevented the theft of £174m over the past nine months.Using techniques originally developed to pursue terrorists, the police have been identifying bank accounts that may be used to steal money and alerting lenders to shut them down.

Cybercrime increases during tax time


Target continues to sort through the fallout from a massive data breach that impacted of millions of customers. The hack took place at the height of holiday shopping, but consumers are about to navigate another tricky period for keeping personal information safe.First there was Target’s holiday season data breach, snaring as many as 110 million shoppers.  Then, Neiman Marcus confirmed it was the target of cybercrime involving customers’ credit cards.

Hungarian man tried to hack, blackmail hotel into job


A Hungarian man attempted to hack the computer system of Marriott International Corp. and tried to reveal the company’s crucial information unless the hotel chain gave him a job. He sent computer virus via email to employees of the hotel that gave him access to critical information on the company’s servers. Federal prosecutors landed him in U.S custody and could go to prison for up to 10 years for hacking the company’s computer systems.

Thai Prime Minister Twitter hack suspect charged


Thailand Police have arrested a 22 year old Architecture student, suspected of hacking the Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s Twitter account and mail accounts. The 22 year old Aekawit Thongdeeworakul, has hacked into the account and posted Tweets accusing the Prime Minister about cronyism and failures in office. The hack was done using a mobile phone and Aekawit was charged with computer hacking offense and can be punishable up to 2 years of imprisonment.

Website Hacking: H-Metro too has been hit


Zimbabwe’s largest daily news tabloid H-Metro’s website was attacked by hackers. The reason for hacking the website is still not known. The website was hijacked by hackers using some vulnerabilities and loopholes in the security of the website for injecting the phishing stuff into the site. The hackers have collected the database from the site. The H-Metro is owned by Zimpapers of Zimbabwe’s government. The website was restored later and is now fully functional.

Betfair Admits Security Hack


Betfair online gambling firm has admitted that the computer servers in UK and Malta are hacked. These servers contain the details of customer’s personal accounts. The attack is supposed to be occurred from Cambodia, stealing 3.15 million user names including encrypted question, 2.9 million user names along with one or more address and 89,744 account usernames including banking details. Betfair has assured that all data was recovered successfully.

Twitter hacking an ‘inside job’


The hacker who attacked the Thailand Prime Ministers Yingluck Shinawatra’s Twitter account has broke in to her email account also. The hacker used the email account for accessing the twitter account. The Information and Technology Minister Anudith has said that the hacker has changed the password of email and Twitter account after gaining access to the accounts. The Ministry has declined to discuss further about the ongoing investigation to avoid conspiracy.

Diebold e-voting hack allows remote tampering


Computer Security experts and Scientists have demonstrated the hack of the electronic voting machines that uses off-the shelf hardware, which are about to be used in 2012 US presidential elections. The Diebold AccuVote TS electronic voting machine relies on small electronic circuit aboard, which connects the touch screen of the device with the microcontroller. This card can be controlled by the hackers to manipulate the data by controlling the microcontroller.
