Zscaler’s Q3 2011 State of the Web report has found that many enterprises use plug-ins which are mostly out of date on most business systems. According to a survey it was found that Adobe Shockwave has 94.2 percent out dated plug ins on which it was installed, Jave on 70 percent, Adobe Reader on 65.8 percent. Most companies have little control over the type of plug-ins that their employees are using.

Amazon has launched the silk browser architecture software, which accelerates the power of the mobile device hardware, utilizing the computing speed and Amazon Web Services cloud (AWS). It uses the mobile hardware and Amazon EC2 connected to the backbone of internet, considers factors like network conditions, web page complexity, and the location of cached content, resulting in faster web browsing. The web browser is available on Amazon’s Kindle Fire.

Strike Force Technologies has said that, the Microsoft is lagging to fix the browser issue. The Browser problem is not allowing the encryption company to activate their software on the Microsoft’s Internet Browser IE 9. The problem was identified in early April and it was reviewed by the Product development team was reported to the Microsoft. Strike force claims that the Microsoft is delaying the issue deliberately.

Chrome and Firefox are good at detecting phishing sites and warning Web surfers via a browser notice when they are about to visit a site that looks dangerous. Scammers are resorting to a new tactic to lure victims into their traps via e-mails–attaching HTML files that are stored locally when they are opened. The phishing URLs alone without the HTML form are hard to verify because the PHP script runs in the server and no visible HTML is displayed after clicking the submit button, other than redirecting to a page belonging to the company the scammer was pretending to be.

Microsoft said IE9′s graphics handling, security and privacy features put it on an even footing with Firefox, Chrome, Safari and others. One key feature in IE9 was tools to stop people being tracked as they move from site to site. This information is often gathered by commercial firms to tailor ads to the specific habits of web users. Separate tools in IE9 keep an eye on download so they can spot when viruses and trojans try to sneak onto a computer.

Google released a finished version of its speedy new Chrome Web browsing software for desktop or laptop computers. This version of Chrome promised quick and responsive handling of software running in the Web browser. Google improved settings for bookmarks, passwords, searches and home pages as well as enhanced protection from websites booby-trapped by hackers with malicious code.

Code for an unpatched security vulnerability affecting all versions of Windows has been released by security researcher. Prompting a warning from Microsoft that remote code execution attacks are theoretically possible. Vulnerability details were released on the Full Disclosure mailing list earlier this week and Microsoft followed up with two separate blog posts discussing the ramifications of the problem.

Opera soon to launch touch browser for tablets. It plans to unveil the first public preview of Opera for tablets during the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show. Opera want to produce a browser specifically for tablets. Opera demonstrated in the video, include smooth panning and smooth zooming. News of Opera for tablets comes on the heels of the latest desktop browser launched by Opera.

It has landscape mode, orientation lock, bandwidth saver, private mode and support for accelerometer as well. The app was published by Kinabalu innovation and developed by Response,the guys behind Zoomery. It will be live in Zune marketplace within some hours and it costs $1.99.

Windows Internet Explorer 9 beta caught 99 percent of the live threats, leading the non-IE pack by 80 percent says malware security report, NSS labs. IE9′s protection includes SmartScreen URL filtering, even included in IE8 as well as SmartScreen application reputation. Apple’s Safari 5 browser caught 11 percent of the live threats, Google Chrome 6 6 caught just three percent of the live threats where as Opera 10 browser caught zero percent of the live threats.
