Apple, Google Creating Wearable Computers for iOS/Android


According to The New York Times, Apple and Google secretly started working on the wearable devices separately over the past year. Apple has already created prototypes of its wearable device. One of the ideas for the wearable Apple device is a curved-glass iPod that can be worn around the wrist like a watch, and its user could communicate with it using intelligent software assistant Siri. The iPhone would also play a critical role in the device’s existence.

China releases first of its kind Google Android 4.0 tablet under £100


World’s first Android Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet will sell for less than $100. The low-cost inscription has been dubbed the Novo7 and will arrive in the Chinese market first. It has a 7″ capacitive multi touch display, dual front and back cameras, the capability to fool around 1080p videos, Wi-Fi, USB and HDMI ports, and is powered by a 1GHz CPU, pronounced processor provider MIPS Technology.

Apple iOS is safer than Android, McAfee says


Security firm, McAfee has reported that “Apple iOS beat Android as a safer environment, but no mobile device is free from risk.” One reason iOS is more secure is because Apple restricts the way users can download apps. Apple’s single App Store is also tightly controlled, leading to a safer and more secure environment. McAfee sees a different approach between Apple and Google in combating malware.

Motorola launches MOTOACTV Android running watch


Motorola has introduced MOTOACTV Android running watch. It’s a Bluetooth GPS  wrist chip that acts as a fancy pedometer. Motorola has said that “customer will be able to track their workouts over extended periods of time, set goals and even create workout competitions with pals. The new model provides some features that include FM radio, GPS tracking, uploading& downloading to websites.

RIM unveils management software for Android and Apple


Blackberry-maker Research in Motion(RIM) has launched management software for devices running on Google Android, Apple and Blackberry operating systems. Vice-president of enterprise product management and marketing at RIM, Alan Panezic has said that “Blackberry Mobile Fusion uses Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) technology to manage multiple OS platforms from one web-based console.

Lenovo spins two Android tablets, one five-inch smartphone


Lenovo has launched three dual-core Android gadgets for China. These models include a five-inch LePad S2005 I smartphone, a seven-inch LePad S2007 tablet, and a 10.1-inch LePad S2010 tablet. LePad S2005 smartphone runs Android 2.3.5 on a dual-core, 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor with 1GB or RAM. All devices are expected to be available in December in China.

ARM Launches Free Toolkit for Android Application Developer Community


ARM has launched its Development Studio 5 Community Edition(CE), a free software development toolkit for Android application. The application is used to create native software for compute intensive tasks that can run up to 4 times faster than Java code. DS-5 Community Edition provide an integrated graphical debugger for NDK-generated code and visibility of advanced processor information.

SharkScope Releases Mobile Apps for iPhone and Android


Sharkscope has launched mobile phone versions of its software for the iPhone and Android. The new applications named iScope and aScope provide direct connections to the normal Sharkscope service. The iScope app is available at the iTunes store for $4.99 and some of the connectivity problems were fixed in the latest version. The aScope application is exclusively used for Android mobile phones.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich to receive Flash support this year


Google’s latest mobile OS, Android 4.0, might get an update for Flash before the New year. Technical Experts keenly looking forward towards the development of Android 5.0.
